Why I love Yorkshire!

So today on Yorkshire Day, I decided to have a think about what I love about God’s Own Country. One of the first things I visualise when I think about Yorkshire is the beautiful places to visit. Whether it’s Fish ‘n’ Chips on Scarborough front or a relaxing walk or cycle in the Yorkshire Dales – we really do have some places to be proud of!

And then there’s the famous stuff. The Tour de Yorkshire, Children in Need’s Pudsey Bear, The Bronte family, our local cheeses, Tetley’s brewery and not forgetting Yorkshire pudding! There’s Ribblehead Viaduct, Emmerdale, the Three Peaks, the flat cap and a whole host of Michelin star restaurants. Our Olympic athletes and our Yorkshire Cricket Team. Michael Parkinson, Dame Judie Dench, Sean Bean, James Martin and Patrick Stewart to name a few more!

But what I think I love about Yorkshire the most is the PEOPLE. Good old cracking Yorkshire folk – you can’t beat them! We are honest, we are friendly and we are down to earth. We work hard and we aren’t afraid to voice our opinion. We spend our money wisely (some may call it tight!!) and we look after our people.  I am proud to be Yorkshire and you should be too!

And I like to relate that to my business. We don’t cut corners, we deliver every time. We look after our people and we understand them. Good old Yorkshire talent!
