Why I Love My Job: Wellness

This May, Seasons focused on the theme of Wellness. Wellness is commonly seen as having seven dimensions: mental, physical, social, spiritual, environmental, financial, and vocational. These dimensions work harmoniously to contribute to our overall quality of life.

Seasons takes the well-being of everyone who lives and works with us very seriously. When wellness is supported, it allows us to pursue with passion a more purposeful life filled with possibilities. Here we illustrate how our homes incorporate the different dimensions of wellness into everyday activities and events.

Seasons Amherstburg

Memory Care Manager Lana believes in the benefits of movement and music in our residents' lives by having a conga line! Team members include everyone, moving this experience throughout the entire building. It is positive in so many ways, not to mention mentally and physically.

Jenn, our Fun Manager, has procured a ping pong table donated by team member Becky. It required a bit of repair, which was easily done by our Environmental Services Manager, Dan. All of our residents get together to enjoy this activity with each other.

Seasons Clarington

Our first-ever company-wide virtual fitness competition, On The Road To Wellness, allows our team members to become more active. They are challenging themselves, encouraging each other, and have been heard expressing, "I haven't taken the elevator once today" and "I went for a walk or ran last night to hit my 10,000-step goal!"

Seasons Owen Sound

We just hosted a golf-themed retirement party for Dave, our bus driver of 11 years. He was wonderfully attentive to our residents; Dave loved taking them to view the fall colours at Blue Mountain and to the Festival of Lights during winter. He even took those that didn't get out much for a little extra drive! Our residents expressed how much they appreciated Dave, as he was always thinking about their health and well-being.

Seasons Strathroy

Alexandrea, a Resident Guest Attendant (Dietary), sees her team members' passion and dedication, ensuring our residents are well-cared for. She is amazed at the number of activities we plan for our residents to ensure they are active, stay connected, and bring fun to every moment of their day, creating an environment they deserve.

Seasons Welland

Fun Manager Lianne collaborated with our residents to brainstorm a new game-show-style competition! Every month team members and residents test their trivia knowledge. This activity stimulates the brain and brings joy to all those who participate, even those in the audience who watch. This initiative is light and fun, establishing a community with a family feel.
