Why I Love Disney - Pocohontas

Pocahontas is based on a royal legend and is a Native American “princess” which is not necessarily the typical royal family.? This is story is based only partially on fact because Pocahontas was a real person, born around 1596.? Pocahontas did play a role as an intermediary between the tribes and the English settlers.
Her turn in life came when she was captured by the English, converted to Christianity and married to John Rolfe.? That marriage established some peace between the settlers and the tribes.? One of the biggest pieces of the story of Pocahontas was that she teaches us to appreciate and respect nature.
The biggest part of her story is the importance of understanding and accepting differences between cultures.? In addition, Pocahontas reminds us to be grateful for what we have instead of always longing for more.? Appreciate the present and our surroundings!
