Why I will not listen to YOUR opinion ...this is not a blow to your ego, but a blow to mine.

Why do we do this....?
In my early life, my youth, I always sought out the attention of my peers. Always wanted to know exactly what they thought of me. Wanted them to like me. I just wanted to entertain from a very young age. It left me with this unsatisfied feeling like I wanted to do music and get ahead of the curve.
We tend to seek not so gratifying approval from all of these individuals that don't necessarily care at all. DO they even know you exist? These people that go about their daily lives, and don't usually ever seek us out. I mean if Cher commented on my posts, I'd flip. Wouldn't you? So why do we do this to celebrities and hype up idols... friends, family, etc.. I think I can help you narrow down why, and help you come to the same senses I did...on that note;
I say just go for what YOU like, don't WORRY about the rest. Don't FOCUS on what's not currently going right or wrong and FOCUS on what you can do now. What are we gonna do? Ask yourself what you can process without distraction, or learn within a circumstance and see where that perspective takes you. Focus on your own will to succeed. Don't listen to me, or him, or her, or they, or them... listen to yourself. Intuition is the best part of human nature. Hands down the ultimate tool. Ask yourself what the best environment for you to learn in is. Go from there. Take one step at a time...
Too many times, I've caught myself listening to too many voices and searching MORE information. Researching MORE. This can be an issue. and it's ANNOYING. I'm scrolling through pictures and posts from people that don't notice me at all! Giving approval where its not reciprocated. I'm not saying that your support isn't needed elsewhere, and that you can't take time to help and support the people and companies you have an interest in, but come on....life gets complacent and almost droning for some. The effort it would take to succeed and be in that top 1% takes a real self-journey, one that requires you to be alone. in the solitude. That is more or less what I'm getting around to.... you need to get to a quiet place. A really quiet space for you and yourself to talk...
REFOCUS on the current dilemma. You are your success, well..... getting to it anyway, do tell how you got there and document nearly every stage of progress or setback. It's a learning experience and if you become addicted to failure in the end like I have, you will strive toward succeeding and you can follow those people you see in the same space and do your own research. I cannot stress HOW IMPORTANT research is. REALLY, ImpORtanT! Networking is huge. Note that. And it shouldn't be the first time you're reading this...
I have some suggestions for more information on all of this. And everything else I've completely slaughtered and sheltered in this article. So my number one focus on writing this article is to shed some light on some recent discoveries I've come across in my industry. Some information that is out there that is completely misleading....
For anyone that's been slinking down, or shutting down near giving up... I've got something for you also. I've been in hiding myself. Researching and progressively attacking this thing I call my own curiosity. I've learned to quit questioning my curiosity and just satisfy it. Looking back, I start to think if I had just satisfied my curiosity early on... I just may have started making this music earlier. But the what if has me personally more eager to find out what could be. I've stayed focused on learning and 'upping the Annie' on my own passions, digging deep into creativity, surfacing my own career perspective and finally sat down with myself. I started writing.
What I did was stopped the scrolling and started really enjoying creating and being in the moment. But this article isn't for me to boast about how I went from procrastinating to making this creative person jump out of me and onto a screen or paper. This article is to dig a little deeper into why we always seek approval, what industry keys lead us to seeking out labels and more importantly other normal people in the industry. And why we think it's okay to feel approval and need approval, where the thought stems from and even more so why we think it's okay to put even more importance on someone else's feelings or opinions rather than our own...The NEED for acceptance will make you INVISIBLE

So growing up, I've watched Jim Carey and Robbin Williams, and many other comedians in awe, in such splendor and thoroughly enjoy their on screen presence... Like no other, these few people... celebrities have managed to captivate the world through comedy, through acting, through inspiring.... and yet we are making more 'secret' discoveries of celebrity lash outs, cry outs, or inspiring interviews with their deeper thoughts. They seem to really bring together a world of knowledge, and give it to us matter of factly...I've listened to speeches by Gary Vaynerchuk, a very big interest of mine. Top entrepreneur, top WINE guy, business guy, and just an overall awesome being give a little insight on this very same thing!
Here is some neuroscience on the subject Brain Function and plasticity on growth mindset, and function... this in an incredible conversation between Dr. Andrew Huberman & Rich Roll.... just take a look and subscribe, I guarantee you will love it! and if anything you will learn something interesting and new. If not then I don't believe you'd even get as far as clicking the link and checking it out so, yay! Anyway, to carry on further.. there is a very natural reason why we seek out approval, the need for connection and otherwise why we get sucked into getting opinions from everywhere. Literally everywhere but our own mind...
It's all centered around the EGO! here is a more eastern approach to knowledge and understanding on why I said it all is centered around the EGO. I challenge you to find out and discover yourself.... this experience is more about hinderances and what you'll understand if you check that out, it will be extraordinary I can just say that. Open your mind and broaden your approach, finding yourself isn't a need for approval, or even self esteem or self confidence, its a need for knowing yourself. Knowing and finding out more and more of your own abilities. Set backs becomes small, failure becomes a tool... challenges become enjoyable. And believe me I've had my share of setbacks, all things unenjoyable. I was in PRISON for crying out loud. How many of us want to land ourselves there to find ourselves. None of us.
Getting back to my main topic, the music industry and misleading information out there. **Number one, is that labels and A&R people are important for your growth and career and that **if you don't have a manager or label,A&R ONE of these working for you eventually you'll lose ground and gain no following.. you'll go no where with your music. WRONG! Too many artists are falling for this myth and to be honest, I think a lot of the music industry people, mongers are just plain unintelligible. When did it become so hard to find good people out there willing to express themselves truly and bring great talent forward.?
I couldn't trust someone who's been numb to sound for a time or two, even just someone who's given up...That attitude comes from a failed perspective. It's not far to say that, naturally you will have a ton of resentment for your passions if they're crushed like that.... not every A&R person or producer out there is walking around with a chip on their shoulder, but I wouldn't put it past them...TO PLACE THE CHIP ON YOURS. Just trust you...
Go with your own intuition and seriously dismiss what anyone else has to say about your music.. enjoy the music, enjoy your passion. You can do this on your own, and with no ones help or input. There are a ton of people to connect with and an internet of resources out there. You must go find it, establish that business relationship. Dig deep and just create. Grab that opportunity without anyones approval. There are a ton of jobs out there, a ton of things one person can do. Thanks, and enjoy.
