Hello everyone I hope you have read my previous article (WHY I LEFT CORPOARTE WORLD AT 22?). If not here is the link,
https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/why-i-left-corporate-world-22-sourabh-goyal/
So, after I knew the hard reality of corporate world, and what is there behind the fancy cabins and designations. Always remember YOUR COMPANY CAN ONLY PAY YOU FOR YOUR DESIGNATION NOT WHAT YOU ARE WORTH, and believe you me you are an infinite human, you can achieve anything that you want to.
The only problem with me was I did not know WHAT I REALLY WANT, and for the few things that I wanted to achieve I always used to have a question WILL IT EVER HAPPEN TO ME?
GOOD thing was I knew clearly what I don’t want now; I did not want any sort of boundary to trap me. Neither corporate world; nor traditional business where one spends 30-40 years on a shop.
I was very lucky to meet my mentor in 2013, who asked me to think deep and write whatever I wanted to achieve in my life without worrying about how it will happen and recommended me a few books to read.
(If you wish to know about these books please mention in the comments section)
These 3 books opened my eyes to a different world altogether, I got few answers. Reading these books made me realize what is actually required to live the LIFE OF MY CHOICES, and I understood the importance of reading books that are not part of formal education system.
Note: A book is not a just bundle of few 100 pages, the text written on these pages written by someone successful contains experience of a lifetime or sometimes many lifetimes.
If we can learn from someone’s lifetime experience, at commit not to do the same mistakes that he/she did, we can bypass and make our journey shorter.
MY GOALS LIST – LIFE’S TO DO LIST or we can LIFE’S LOVE TO DO LIST
It took me entire night to jot down what I would really love to have in my life, and the life I want 10-15 years from now. The feeling was amazing. I had in my hand 34 goals to chase. A WISE MAN SAID ONCE – if you know what you want half work is done.
Now, only thing I did was I checked; if these goals are possible to be achieved from a job and Answer was NO!!!
So, I QUIT- (mentally I was out of my job, physically I was spending my 8 hours in office)
You cannot achieve what you have not seen, and you don’t know how it feels be there in life. I started connecting with people who were living the dreams I wanted to achieve. The only I question I asked these people was HOW DID YOU GET ALL THIS?
Obviously, all of them were into some kind of business, what I learned from them is
What work ethic is required to be there?
What all skillsets I need to acquire?
What all people I need to connect with spend my time with? (Always remember you are as good, as rich, as wise as the 5 people you spend your maximum time with)
I got my answers, thanks to all the people who gave their valuable time and helped me understand what is required to be done, whether I like it or not. This was required to achieve my goals and started a new journey to change everything around me. Within next 6 month I left my mechanical engineering job and joined a BPO to come over my hesitation to talk to people.
DALE CARNEGIE said: To be successful in life only 15% technical knowledge is required, rest 85% is how you talk, behave, lead, manage and deal with people, and a survey from top 100 CEO of the world agreed to it.
I started my own distribution venture (I never hesitated to ask for help from people who were better than I was) and in this journey of past 5 years learned in abundance. I dedicated these 5 years to only and only learning to become the kind of person who can achieve what I wrote down on that page. I did achieve a few in between and these small achievements added to my confidence and belief that if this can happen BIG things will also happen. IT’S just a matter of time. Journey is still going on. THE more I learn, more I realize how little I know. I am a stupid in this abundant universe of knowledge and wisdom working every day to get a small pie of it by the time this journey ends.
Thanks for Reading. Again today I will leave you with a 2 short video clip that actually matched my thought. I am here to help you grow your life I you need.

6 年Well said Sourabh. Consider yourself lucky to have found out so much at such a young age. You SOURABH GOYAL are so right in corporate world we are paid per title not for effort and results. A wise person once said the world is set up not to aid the go getter to succeed but rather not let the fools fail too badly.

6 年Nice! but the following things i want to add: a founder may not run his business , or any venture successfully if he does'nt employ people. Yes this is true that a firm pays its employees for position but the employees are helping the founder to lead his/her venture.?
