Why I joined Arthur J. Gallagher?

I am ecstatic to be an Area Vice President with Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG) and helping this great company continue to grow their property and casualty insurance business both in Kansas City and across the US.  

Why Commercial Insurance?  

I have been asked this by a ton of my friends, particularly in the start-up community. I tell them I chose the commercial insurance industry, because I am passionate about technology and innovation.  That usually gets a chuckle from my tech start-up friends. However, it is also the real reason. I do truly believe there are plenty of opportunities in this industry for both innovation and technology.

New technology is helping so many business across all industries be more efficient, and productive. With this new found productivity, comes increased risk. The opportunity exists for me to assist and partner with companies on how to not only effectively and efficiently utilize new technology to increase productivity, but also how to mitigate the risk this technology brings. Secondly, I believe there is a huge opportunity to innovate with technology inside the commercial insurance space to make the insurance industry as a whole more productive and efficient.  

So why Arthur J. Gallagher over all the other commercial insurance brokers?

1. Expertise and resources: AJG has experts and clients in every industry and vertical of insurance. We have also made tremendous investments in technology to ensure the vast amount of expertise can be at your fingertips when you need it. Furthermore, AJG is a culture of continued learning, and is already providing me the necessary tools to continue to grow professionally.
2. Team Selling and Collaboration: No one is expected to know everything necessary to be able to assist clients, because that is not possible.  Producers do not compete for common accounts, but rather partner to provide the maximum possible value to existing and potential partners. I have found since joining AJG, the team partnering approach has been much more successful and rewarding.
3. Opportunity: Arthur J Gallagher is the second largest insurance broker here in Kansas City and one of the top four largest in the world.  They have built a platform for success that has enabled consistent and steady growth, even when insurance premiums have continued to decrease over the recent years.
4. Transparency/Ethics:  AJG is one of the few brokers who fully discloses its commission on all of its accounts. I have always been a big believer in transparency and this straight forward style of doing business really resonates well with me.
5. Most Importantly THE PEOPLE: It is very important to me to be surrounded by the right people.  AJG’s culture attracts passionate, entrepreneurial team players who truly want to help their customers and each other succeed.  AJG’s employees are the main reason I joined and the main reason my first 2 months have been so enjoyable and filled with great learning experiences.
