Why I Had To Talk About Them!

As a storyteller with over 20 years of experience, I have come to realise that no two stories are the same. There is always a twist, and this is what excites me. I thought it was always easy for me to pick a person and listen to their story with excitement from start to finish. However, when I decided to listen to the stories of six particular women, I quickly realised that the two-hour slots we slated were not enough. There is never an end to a story; every single one of us will live forever based on a fact—that we must immortalise our stories, either by ourselves or by having others help us. This is why I decided to sit and speak to the current cover ladies on FabAfriq Magazine and have booked for 24 more to come by the end of 2025. -Well maybe a bit more and another follow up project to this not willing to share right now- Keep an eye on my newsletter...

Legacy! This historic issue not only explores the theme of leaving a legacy but also celebrates extraordinary achievements that continue to resonate. For the first time, we've featured a captivating group cover, showcasing six C-suite role models who are redefining what society expects from women in leadership. From Mitwa Kaemba, CEO of MTN Cameroon , to Elizabeth Burns, CFO of Gaz Du Cameroun , Helen Dengoue, CEO of Blessing Petroleum SA , Cyrine Draif, CEO of OLA Energy Kenya (then Ola Energy Cameroon ) Valérie Neim , Founder of @Invictea and Jacquie Patcha, Procurement manager at Addax Petroleum . These women share their journeys of transforming companies and paving the way for future female leaders.

Behind the Scenes of Our Legacy Edition

Let me take you on a journey through the creation of this magazine. Our editorial adventure began with a brainstorming session, pondering what society truly needs today. We focused on the dynamic roles of women in leadership and how they courageously share their experiences.

We curated a list of inspirational women within our network and meticulously checked their common traits—tick, tick, tick. We filtered out those who didn't quite fit our vision and reached out to the rest. After eagerly awaiting their responses, we selected the first six to enthusiastically say yes.

As we reviewed our final selection, we realized these women have all graced the stage as keynote speakers at our Corporate Women In Leadership program, served as mentors in our mentor-mentee initiative, and continue to inspire us profoundly.

Capturing the Essence of Our Cover Ladies

What truly stood out was the excitement shared by our cover ladies about being featured. We conducted in-depth interviews and hosted a glamorous networking photoshoot, complete with champagne and canapés—don’t miss the behind-the-scenes videos on our channel.

Our curated interviews was more on their experiences, insights, and the secrets behind their high-level positions. These narratives transcend mere inspiration, offering a profound exploration of their journeys to success, leaving you both enlightened and inspired.

What is your legacy? Think before you answer... Remember, building a legacy is a journey defined by dedication, passion, and a commitment to making a meaningful difference, so leave yours.
