OH, MY GIDDY AUNT!!! Last night on Australian Survivor we saw a true leader! (Yep, I might have got business goosebumps...
Janine Allis, founder of Boost Juice, shark on Shark Tank and now contender on Australian Survivor - led like a true champion. If you didn't watch the show and you're in business - you must!!!
With her head on the chopping block instead of the usual gameplay of acting the victim, grovelling and pleading - she got strategic!
She understood each player's ultimate goal: to win the show.
Got crystal clear on her tribe's goal: having a 'champion tribe member' go on to win.
Knew what needed to be done to make that happen: keep both physical and intellectual strength in the team so as to win as many challenges and immunities as possible prior to the merger, giving everyone the best opportunity to win the game.
She also understood the specific triggers and language of each individual player (niching down in her audience) so she could speak to and resonate with them.
So when her tribe were gunning to vote her off - she was ready!
She knew exactly how to present herself! How to connect! How to resonate!
They heard her loud and clear. And they knew she had what it takes to solve their problem. And those she niched down to - were SOLD!
Woohoo - she had enough swing votes to keep her in the game (at least for another episode - oh the tension!!!)
Strategy outwitted, outplayed, outlasted in the game last night - and with dignity, integrity and grace.
And this is exactly the same as what we need to do in our own businesses when it comes to personal branding and how we show up in our business!
1) Understand our buyers end goal - what problem our clients need solving?
2) Know the steps to get our audience there
3) Understand our clients' triggers
4) Know their language
5) Show up and be the one who helps them
If it's time for you to make the next move in your business - to show up, raise your profile and present like the leader you are: have a good look at your images. Make sure they're client-focused and they speak to and resonate with your ideal buyers. If they don't - your buyers will cast their vote and give your competitors their business.
