Why I felt SICK sending this text

I got the text at 3:19pm.
I ignored it, hoping I’d have better news to respond later.
I waited. And waited.
Then, finally, at 11:18pm, I reluctantly replied “Disaster!”.
I’d totally failed.
With our corporate clients, Career Coorts, the App, our upcoming 5 Day Challenge and life in general - there’s a lot going on.
So, I pay a coach to help me with my accountability. (I thought it seemed a bit ridiculous too, but stick with me, I’ll tell you why it’s 100% worth it)
We set monthly goals & every morning, I send her my top to dos. She follows up in the afternoon to ensure I stay on track.
I received a regular text check-in - but it’d been one of those days.
URGH. I’d done basically...nothing.
I procrastinated on responding to her all day. But then at almost midnight, I had no choice. I had to let her know not one to-do was ticked off my list.
I sheepishly texted: “Disaster. Tomorrow is a new day”
I was embarrassed. But here’s the thing she helped me realize when we spoke - it's ok to have these days…. occasionally.
The key word? Occasionally.
If you’re looking to make serious career moves - you cannot afford to have A LOT of days like these. They sabotage your success.
It’s been hard to stay on track after this year because #covid. And so:
- You may be feeling a little overwhelmed at all the things you HAVEN’T done this year.
- You may be feeling flat, lethargic & just blurgh in general
- You may have started the year with big, audacious goals but….what were they again??
There’s a fix to feeling like this, promise - I’ve been there!
You can keep going, keep having ‘those days’ -- OR -- you can snap out of it. Now, you may be able to do this on your own, but I needed help.
Thanks to Keita, my coach, I’m getting more done than ever. So now I’m here now to pay it forward to you- Consider this email your SNAP OUT OF IT cue!
And that's where our evidence backed, psychology based free 5 day Challenge comes in.
And it starts in less than 24 hours. 5 minutes of your day, for 5 days this week includes:
- Science backed strategies to implement straight away into your daily routine so you can see the fruits of your success immediately
- Be a lone wolf no more! Success Sprint alongside others just like you so that you can strive towards your goals together, and get there quicker
- If not now when? You (hopefully!) take time out to invest in a doctor checkup and a dentist checkup every year. But when else will you stop and reflect on your career & what you need to do about it to steer it in the direction you truly want?
So, maybe this is the sign you need, the nudge to say enough with the disastrous days. Enough with the status quo - and YES to the Success Sprint!
You’re busy, I get it. And so, it’s no BS and to the point - it only takes 5 minutes a day. (Yup. That’s it.) Let’s snap out of the mid year funk, together. Register here for you last chance for access to free live coaching with me.
See you soon Sprinters!
Meggie

3 年Aww, shoot! Missed this sprint. But I feel you. I was talking to my business coach at one point about just not being able to get the shit done I needed to get done, and she laid this gem into my brain cells: "You aren't a dysfunctional car. You've just run out of gas." It is now on a Post-It note beside my desk, with a follow-up Post-In asking "What are you doing today to refill your tank?" So I can make sure the "out of gas" days are few and far between...while reminding myself that sometimes you just can't get to the gas station, but that doesn't mean you are broken. Just temporarily broken down.
