Why I Don't Use LinkedIn Like Others

Obviously, LinkedIn has worked great for people managing their career and connecting with colleagues and networking for work-related projects and opportunities. All that is good, and I have to put in my time and effort every business day to work on a job that generates income, because I am not financially independent and I have bills to pay. Neither do I have the acumen to getting passive income. Some people do, good for them.

Since I already put in plenty of hours every week with work, I don't have the kind of motivation or energy to use more time related to work, improving my career or cultivating leads for product sales. Work stresses me out enough already, and LinkedIn triggers more stress for me.

Now, I love social networking and connecting with people. So I'm numbered among the monthly active users on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and now, Clubhouse.

How Social Networks Work Best

In addition to general socializing with people I already know (from life experiences) and new people with similar interests.

My 3 interests are: multiethnic diversity, shame (over mental health), and generosity. Yes, those of you who are astute will notice these are easily represented by the 3 letters, M.S.G. Allow me to explain these life goals in a short video

These are huge life goals, far bigger than the number of days I have on planet earth. And I cannot do them on my own.

So it is my hope and prayer that the universe will connect me with the right people who'd have the complementary skills and resources to make these happen and make this world a better place for all peoples.

Thank you for reading this article. And it'd be a real gift for you to connect me with someone that has one of these interests.

Good article. Additional food for thought: Last week a stock advisor I follow noted the real wealth during the gold rush was not made by those panning for gold. It was the people selling pans, picks, shovels, jeans and whiskey. Social media seems like that. A few might strike gold through social media, and I hope you do. But Microsoft (owner since 2016) is the real beneficiary of monetizing our business and social connections. Cheers, db

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, DJ. I'd love to hear more about this and figure out how I can plug in, especially about erasing shame and increasing generosity. Have to check out your podcast also.

Great thoughts. How do you like clubhouse so far? Does it have a greater advantage to that of a traditional podcast platform like Anchor?
