Why I Decided to Get a "Netflix" for Food.

Problem
Time ???: I don't know about others but I feel 24 hours is insufficient. Time is a minimal resource, and I want to save time for more important people and things in my life. If I use my time to cook, I would compromise on doing something else. I don't WANT to do that. That's why I don't cook my food. I wanted to use other people's time to cook my meals.
Money ??: You may ask, if you ask someone else to cook your food OR order it from a food delivery app, wouldn't it be expensive? Yes, it would be expensive but not costlier than your time. I know, not everyone will have the privilege to do that. But if you are someone who has a job, and who gets a steady stream of income monthly, you can plan your budget for your food. I have a monthly budget for food and I don't mind spending on it.
Health ??: Being away from home, I have tried cooking my own food AND the office-subsidised meals. I was never sure how healthy my food was and whether it met my nutritional/dietary goals or not. If I outsource my food, I can just talk to a nutritionist and he/she can take care of the rest.
Peace ??: You have to be lucky to get a good cook. I have heard testimonials from my friends who have a cook. They don't care much about your goals but theirs. You are unsure if they will come tomorrow. They can fall sick (Or someone passed away, the usual excuses). That's why I didn't hire a cook. I don't want to get into that hassle.
Taste ??: After trying out multiple options, I learned, I can never be sure of taste. I believe good taste means a good life. Taste can determine how you feel while and after you eat your food. People think that if you eat healthy, you have to compromise on taste. I don't believe in that. I don't compromise on taste to eat healthy food.
Good UX of Life ??: I am a User Experience (UX) Researcher and I help businesses build products and services that have good UX. I am applying the same thinking to my daily life. I want to optimise the UX of my everyday experience (Still working on it, we all are). I understood my pain points related to my food. I wanted to solve this puzzle and find something that works for me.
Solution
I wanted a "Netflix" for food. A subscription to planned meals. Get a nutritionist who could understand my health goals and plan my meals accordingly. I wanted to "Automate food" in my life.
After extensive desktop research, I found a meal subscription service in Delhi NCR. I currently live in Gurugram, Haryana. May sound like an ad, but I am just trying to share my experience with them. (I am still learning how to write an article)
Trial ??: I like to test the water before diving in. I signed up for their 3-day trial to understand if it works for me. Usually, trials are FREE, but this one was NOT. I was sceptical but curious at the same time. I understand making good food costs money.
Nutrionist ??: After signing up, they contacted me on WhatsApp and scheduled a FREE call (btw, Nothing is free!) with the Nutrionist. I had recently started working out at a gym, so I shared my health goals with her. She asked about my dietary preferences, allergies, and any health disorders. I felt excited about how she would plan my meals after this consultation.
App ??: She asked me to download their app where she uploaded my meal plan for 3-days. The meal plan had all the details such as - Calories, Ingredients, and Nutritional information.
My first meal delivery ??: The next morning (around 8), I received my Lunch and Dinner (I signed up for both). They delivered both meals at the same time and asked me to refrigerate it. I was fine with that.

Lunch ??: I heated my lunch (on a flat pan) and had my first bite. It was so good. Although it came in a small tiffin box, the quantity of meat was good for me and the Taste was excellent. I got simple Ragi roti and Sabji in Dinner (I Loved it too!).
Variety ?: Throughout the 3-day trial, every morning, they delivered different dishes both for lunch and dinner. Although there was variety in dishes, the quantity and taste were consistent.
Discount ??: I met my nutritionist post-trial to share my feedback and requested her to make some changes. I signed up for a monthly plan as it had the maximum discount (Always the case).
Pause ??: I wanted to go out on one Sunday. So I paused my meal delivery on Saturday (before 6 pm). They paused it (It carried forward).
Satisfaction ??: It's been a few weeks since I signed up. They are consistent, meals are delivered daily without fail. I asked for healthy junk food for Dinner, they again changed my meal. It's been worth my money and time. I didn't have to compromise on taste OR health. I feel great that I have finally outsourced my food successfully.
Subscribed to ParaFit India: They haven't paid me to write this article. I will start an article with a "Sponsored Article" tag (When that happens, one day). I discovered them through my desktop research. I read reviews on third-party websites, and tried them out. I liked their meal delivery and this is nothing but a genuine recommendation. They only deliver in the Delhi NCR region at the moment.
Find what works for you ??: You can use my process to find your favourite meal service. You may hire a cook and a nutritionist too. Just like I found a business that does it, you may find a similar one in your locality. Happy solving and thanks for reading!

4 个月Great article brother! Almost felt like an ad nonetheless?? Be sure to thoroughly cook the meat (we have watched enough House MD episodes to knowthat undercooked meat can cause tapeworms??) Hope you have a great User Experience with this new subscription service.
