Why I Created Bank Monitor: A Solution for Community Banks and Credit Unions

After spending over 20 years working with community banks, I realized that these institutions are the backbone of their local communities. They serve small businesses, provide personalized services, and build strong relationships. But as social media started to grow, these banks faced a new challenge: how to stay compliant with FFIEC social media regulations.

In 2013, when the FFIEC introduced its Social Media Compliance Guidance, I saw firsthand how hard it was for community banks to manage social media safely and effectively. They didn’t have large teams or resources like bigger banks, and the regulatory requirements were complex. That’s when I knew I needed to create a solution—Bank Monitor.

Bank Monitor is a tool I designed to help community banks and credit unions monitor and manage their social media while staying compliant with FFIEC rules. It provides automated monitoring, tracks potential violations, and offers clear audit trails to satisfy examiners. More importantly, it allows banks to focus on what they do best: serving their communities.
