Why I Co-Founded Bioself Technology – a Transformative Technology Company

These times are doing nothing less than demanding technology that uplifts and transforms us, so I was grateful to speak with Niraj Shah who’s one of the leaders at Transformative Technology and heads up the London chapter.

Niraj and the Transformative Technology organization are champions of technology that focuses on the improvement of human well-being – including mental health and emotional wellness. These technologies aimed at improving overall human welfare and improving the human experience are top of mind as we navigate the complex pressures that everyone is under. 

I believe that mental health and state of wellbeing needs to be emphasized more in school, the workplace, and in society in general. The state of our minds affects all that we do, and the people around us. 

Niraj and I discussed Bioself’s game-changing Sensate and how I got involved with the business.

We both are driven by the idea that the more people can still their minds and make decisions from a place of health, wellbeing and peace, the better our world will be.

“It’s an amazing product that helps you relax in as little as 10 minutes. You put the product on your sternum and it uses near infrasonics and bone conduction to help tone the vagus nerve. A good vehicle for nerve toning is a very important aspect of well-being and stress resilience.

“Stefan Chmelik, my co-founder has been working in this field for decades and he has been successfully using this therapy in his clinic. His clinic has healed thousands of people with quite severe stress and trauma problems, and any sort of related disease. The Sensate device itself came out of him wanting this type of therapy to reach a much wider audience. So now it’s been several years in product development to make sure that we are getting the same result out of this portable device as we do from the previous bigger kit that uses this type of therapy.

“The first version of the product came out last year and we only produced a thousand devices to test and validate the device, and the market. The feedback from the early users was overwhelmingly positive and incredible so we now have the second version, which has both an improved therapeutic element, and an improvement in a number of other aspects with the form factor and so on. It’s available online, and we’ve been getting a lot of amazing feedback from new users. 

“I’ve been working in technology for a couple of decades and I made a decision some years ago that I wanted to work with technology that is doing something good for people. I am incredibly passionate about human evolution and human performance. I’ve ‘walked the walk’ by doing a lot of work on myself because we all have more potential, so I have a huge personal interest in the field. 

“The other aspect is that I’m really passionate about [building] a great business.” It’s not just about getting a product to millions of people that is going to help them better handle anxieties and to relax, but I also care a lot about how we get there, and I’m equally excited about building an amazing team where we grow together, both on a professional and on a personal level.

There are two sides to why I just had to work with my co-founder Stefan Chmelik to get his groundbreaking innovation to market: I was blown away by the user feedback, he was inundated with spontaneous, positive reviews. That alone really fascinated me, but also commercial potential for the business – solving a gigantic problem with really strong commercial viability drew me in.
