Why I Chose Techcare: A New Chapter in My IT Support Journey

When I made the decision to leave Air IT back in September 2023, I was met with an overwhelming wave of job offers. It was a daunting time, navigating through endless possibilities and figuring out the next step in my career. That's when Karl Frankham from Techcare reached out to me.

Karl and I had been connected on LinkedIn for a while, and he offered to buy me a coffee. What followed was more than just a casual chat; it was a mini counselling session. He gave me a chance to get things off my chest and truly understand my career journey. Not only did he listen, but he also offered to help me find a new opportunity, regardless of whether it was with Techcare or not.

Fast forward six months, and Andrew Oakley from Beaumont IT mentioned that Techcare was recruiting a salesperson. Andy shared the exciting goals that Techcare was aiming to achieve and spoke highly of Oliver Aleksejuk and Mark, who lead the team. This piqued my interest, and I decided to interview with them.

During the interview, Oliver and Mark painted a compelling picture of the company. But what truly impressed me was one simple statement: "We never upsell."

In my previous roles, IT support companies would often sell an initial package and then upsell security and cloud features throughout the contract term. From experience, I know that clients hate this approach. At Techcare, they do things differently. You receive the full security package and necessary cloud upgrades right from the start, with no upselling. This means you know exactly what you're getting from the outset, which I believe is incredibly powerful.

Moreover, Techcare prioritises relationships over profit. This relationship-first approach is rare in today's IT support industry and is one of the key reasons I chose to join Techcare. Even though I'm only two weeks in, I can already tell that this role is a perfect fit, far better than the three other positions I held in the past year.

I'm genuinely excited about what the future holds with Techcare and look forward to building strong, lasting relationships.
