Why I Choose Russell Tobin
What initially attracted me to Russell Tobin was the appeal of an international recruitment brand that’s growing quickly, with a very strong client base of the type of companies I want to support. A company that can offer truly forward-thinking solutions to its clients—and a willingness to go even further outside the box in pursuit of staffing and recruiting excellence.
At the time, Russell Tobin was carrying out a global embedded recruitment project for Meta, which gave me the chance to see the process up close. I had the opportunity to meet with some great people working in the organisation, and I could really feel that they were type of people I want to work with. They have an incredible culture of entrepreneurial energy across Russell Tobin. Many of the folks I met could easily be running their own companies, but they had found an incredible opportunity to work with likeminded professionals and were putting all that energy toward achieving success for their teams and clients.
This level of investment in people and corporate culture really is rare—and it’s what motivated me to join the team. Once I was on the inside, however, I discovered that I had still kept my expectations too low! Even at the highest levels of the company, people were doing incredible work in the name of Helping the World Work, up to and including Tim Tobin , a leader who encourages us to do the right thing even when no one’s watching simply because it’s what he does himself.
That’s why our performance reviews include measures of our cultural and personal contributions and efforts, and it’s why so many folks here focus on helping others. As I’ve heard, even if it’s not directly related to your core job, asking "can I help you?" is good and "how can I help you?” is even better, but letting someone know a solution with a simple "here is how I can help you" is ideal.
