Why I am a standards-maker | Tom Ruddell

#Standards affect all of us every day, wherever we go, whatever we do.
By defining good practice, they help people and organizations to do things better. For all sorts of things, from #nanotechnology to #NetZero guidance.
And these #standards are made by #standardsmakers – tens of thousands of people from around the world - who get together to agree good practice to the way things are made and done. All helping to make life easier, safer, and more enjoyable.
For the latest episode of our #standardsmakers series, we spoke to engineer and BSI award-winner Tom Ruddell . He's the driving force behind the #standard #BS8887-221 - for the #remanufacture of #luminaires.
Tom describes his motivations for getting involved in #standards, the impact being a #standardsmaker has had on both the #lighting industry and his career, and his proudest #standardsmaking moments so far.
