Why I am letting people follow my journey in creating my business and brand...
So yes, I have taken the risk. Quit my 9-5, jumped in the deep end with the aim of starting a business. And it feels great! Now, don't get me wrong, it took a good 6-10 months for me to come to this decision and I saved money. I didn't just jump ship with no plan ("thank god" says my mother!). I have clients lined up and I am also working freelance to keep something coming through to the bank.
I did however, think I would have a lot more done by now (it's only been a month and a half). I imagined a big launch day where I would show everyone the branding, show my pieces of work to date, reveal my website and so much more. So I got involved in Clubhouse, an audio only app for people to converse, and I have already learned so much. But then I got worried that without having my social media connected I was missing out on an opportunity to have people see my business once I launched. Then I got some great advice, "Why don't you let people in on the journey with you?". So I have.
I started an Instagram only a day ago, put up a few posts with some of my branding (which is not finalised) and was honest with people, telling them "I am letting you in on my journey and process to create this space".
Now I have a fire under my behind! Accountability is super important, and what better way that telling everyone you are going to do something great! I have something to work towards that's not just for me. It is also an opportunity to show people how I can grow and then share that with them. One of the driving factors behind my new venture is the fact that I love to share knowledge. As James Keller says "A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle". I want to make things look good and I want to help people. So I am intertwining the two.

It is a bit of an experiment and a risk but it is certainly going to make working my way up more interesting!
