Why I am launching a (mostly) business show this Wednesday.

When considering what to do with myself post-retirement…
…I knew it had to be something that I enjoyed doing AND didn’t take too much of my time.
One piece of that is putting in a little bit of my time to create outsized marketing returns.??
I’m doing that in 2 ways.? One, through writing one piece of content (like this) each week…and this content will be replicated and reused in different ways over time.
And the big reveal today is #2…
I am launching a weekly business show called MOSTLY BUSINESS.
Our first show will be tomorrow Wednesday March 27, at noon central.
My aim is to create a business show that is different from pretty much everything out there.? Because honestly, I think most business shows and podcasts are very boring.??
This show will feature a variety of topics each episode, some business related and some not. I don’t think straight business content is very entertaining (maybe Shark Tank is the exception).?
So, I knew from the start that if this was going to be something I enjoyed doing…I had to be free to talk about anything I want and whatever interests me at the time.?
Imagine a show that sprinkles in business headlines and discussion alongside wine reviews, hockey talk, investment ideas, P Diddy revelations, cool new music, etc., etc.?
You get the picture.??
And it’s important to note that we are not going to be talking about the kind of business headlines that really don’t matter to most people.? To be honest the front page of CNBC or WSJ is not super relevant to most people on a day-to-day basis.
But it’s not just me.? You really can’t have a proper show with just one person.??
I’m fortunate to have a couple sidekicks / good buddies co-hosting with me and I’ll introduce you to them on the show.??

Anyways…for me this sounds fun and relevant.? From a business model standpoint, I can show up once a week and shoot the shit for an hour.?
From that comes a lot of content that can be repurposed in many ways.??
If we enjoy it and it’s doing well, maybe we’ll start doing it more than 1x per week.? We’ll see.
I’m cautiously optimistic that over time we’ll get it dialed in and build a solid audience and eventually CNBC will give us $86 million to bring it to TV. :)?
