Why I Am Joining ModusBox

A few years go (well actually nearly 10) during my time as the CIO for Razorfish, I met a guy named David Wexler. David was a young newly married guy with some bold ideas about software and EDI. My team at Razorfish had just built one of the first enterprise IOS apps so employees could enter their time cards via the iPhone. A few employees loved it, but lots asked why we were wasting our precious IT dev. time on something so frivolous. Thankfully my boss Ray Velez and our CEO Bob Lord encouraged us to plow full speed ahead and ignore the complainers.

David later joined the Biztalk team at Microsoft to pursue his ideas, and while somewhat successful, this business was not growing quickly enough to be a priority. Believing that software was going to democratize trading partner communications, David left Microsoft to  start @ModusBox (www.modusbox.com), convincing Kent Brown to be employee number 2, and myself, and my former aQuantive colleagues Jay Clem and Jeff Fellinge to be his first outside investors.

Modusbox was fortunate to partner with Mulesoft to distribute our B2B EDI tech in the market as AnyPoint B2B. We believe that by 2020, nearly every organization will be able to easily exchange relevant business data digitally with their customers and partners. ModusBox has also been fortunate to express our belief about democratizing EDI in the financial world by partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and several other visionary tech companies to create #Mojaloop.
