Why (and How) I Started EFS Life

The NFL prepared me for a lot more than I realized at the time. My 10 years in the league taught me everything I could hope to know about teamwork, communication and big picture perspective.?

Everything revolved around the job, and when I began other businesses and eventually retired from playing in 2012, I saw how those core skills translated into every aspect of my life.

You may know that after retiring I began my next professional career in the financial industry focusing on a niche insurance solution called Premium Financed Life Insurance. I did this for over a decade and I still have my consulting company: Enhanced Funding Solutions in Orlando, FL.?

I’ll admit I had no intention of starting an advisory firm. Even though teamwork is in my DNA, I’ve been working “alone” for a while.?

As a consultant, I get to work alongside clients’ Financial Advisors, CPAs, and others on their team to execute our solutions. I also have a network of lenders and providers who provide those solutions, so I’m not really working “alone” - it’s always felt like a team.

As the industry evolved and my niche became less niche, the opportunity to offer more advisor services kept presenting itself.?

EFS Life came to life slowly and steadily throughout 2022. It became clear that there was a need for more tax-efficient investment strategies beyond PFLI.

By carefully gathering a group of advisors who can offer a variety of solutions to people at every stage of their life, we’re enabling our clients (and our networks’ clients) to retain more value and enhance their incomes.

I’m often asked how I went from football to finance. They do seem quite different but in reality, it’s about creating opportunities, keeping a big-picture mindset and working with the very best. At EFS Life - that’s exactly what we’re doing.
