It may seem a minor detail, when you’re brother runs the company and profits are steady. you may not think you have a social responsibility to ensure your employees feel stable and fulfilled at all, but you have an opportunity to boost the value of your business. It is because a company where regular employees trust management, one that can expect full commitment from its workers. And that means they’ll go above and beyond achieving the bare minimum for you.
So how does a business leader or HR manager go about cultivating trust in their team?.
The first step is to be open and get rid of the ‘us and them’ mentality which can only result in divided efforts from the shop and the field. No matter what you want to achieve in life, building trust with all employees will be a big part of your success. The process of gaining trust and understanding with anyone takes time, but a single action can ruin any relationship you’ve built over a period of time.

Having a view of the big picture creates space for communication and openness. You will feel and hear confidence in conversation and your interaction with your people.

Just listen. Listening is the simplest way to validate others. You don’t?need?to tell your story; just encourage them to keep telling theirs. Make them feel important. For most of us, our natural reaction is to interrupt, but it also means that we are never fully present when someone is talking. Hold back from interrupting or overriding with your own points, thoughts and ideas, suspend your ego.

I know most of you are waking up at night, to say " I hope Steve knows where his is going today?, I hope he has a set of drawings? or I hope he has a tool for this or that!". Feedback given sporadically or infrequently can be unproductive.
Regular meetings create a trusting environment for people to give and receive feedback.

One of the best ways to build bone deep lasting trust and healthy conflict is to be transparent, open and honest even when it feels uncomfortable.

07. COMMIT TO YOUR WORD.
Trust depends on integrity. Predictable behavior is seen as more trustworthy. Erratic behavior will be met with suspicion.

Recognition has a largest effect on trust when it occurs immediately after a goal has been met.

Oxytocin is released in the brain when we socialize and build trust. When people intentionally build social connections at work, their performance improves.

When you trust your employees to choose the kind of work they do, they will focus their energies on what they care about most.

You’ll never get a second chance to make a great first impression with people you meet. So with the few minutes to spare to get someone on your side, make the most of it. And always remember, the right attitude is everything. Make sure the other person walks away better for having met you. Trust is fundamental to business success, and it is within reach when you consistently work at it.
