Why heels don't sell houses

So we have had a show stopping week of exchanges and as I rush around giving away gifts and hugging old and new vendors, the thought occurred to me; I couldn’t do this in heels!

When it comes to picking an agent to sell the biggest asset of your life, many of you may think of someone who wears a suit and high heels, dressed similar to a solicitor or a banker.

However those of you that know me, know that I dress smart but no suits, and no heels….why? Because heels don’t sell houses and suits don’t rent them! If anything, all they do is leave nice little spot marks on wooden or laminate flooring that you can’t get out!

When it comes to negotiating a sale or a letting, it’s not about how smart you can go, or how short the skirt is, it’s about making vendors, buyers and tenants feel comfortable around you. If they feel relaxed and not intimidated or awkward, they are more willing to open up to you and share more. But why is this important? If you can get the buyers or tenants to open up to you, they will share with you the real reason they don’t like a property so a vendor can improve, or the real amount they can go to on the property to buy it or how much they really like the home to buy it.

If you add all this together, what do you get?

A property which achieves in excess of the asking price, how do I know this? I’ve done it twice this week.

We are all humans, and we all need a helping hand to guide us through the sales or letting process, whether a vendor, landlord, tenant or buyer, it’s all about being by your side 100% of the way with us.
