Why is the Healthcare Industry Progressively Transferring its Services to the Digital Realm?
The healthcare industry has recently undergone a veritable metamorphosis. Until recently, doctor's appointments, even just for a prescription renewal, cost us a lot of time, whereas nowadays, we can take care of most of these needs from the comfort of our own four walls.?
Why has this happened? What persuaded medical experts to use the latest technology in an ever-growing number of services?
The reason behind the hybrid sales approach?
According to data from a McKinsey & Company article, the best-performing healthcare companies are revamping their traditional go-to-market strategies with remote sales organisations. A shift to a hybrid sales approach opens up growth opportunities and reduces service costs across care settings, and is expected to improve the satisfaction of the needs and preferences of physicians, hospital supply departments, health system administrators and other healthcare customers.
The heightened focus on hybrid sales in MedTech companies is mainly fuelled by customers' increased desire for remote contact with sales representatives.
Eighty-one per cent of doctors and eighty-nine per cent of procurement professionals surveyed by McKinsey & Company in August 2021 stated that they prefer to use multiple channels when engaging with healthcare companies.
To address this shift in customer preferences, healthcare companies should consider creating a mix of remote and field channels and strictly coordinating them to ensure genuine omnichannel engagement with clinical and non-clinical interests.
And what do you think about it? Is this a permanent change or a short trend linked to the COVID-19 pandemic?
