Why health belongs in the “must have” category

Why health belongs in the “must have” category

Many people do not make their health a huge priority.

It’s completely understandable if you have lived a pretty healthy life. As we get to the halfway point we start to become more aware - physically - aches and pains start showing up or mentally as we watch?our parents and family members?battle chronic illnesses like cancer, heart disease, or dementia.?Watching this can give us a terrifying?glimpse into our health future!

Most of the people I work with one on one are at the mid life stage and?are?definitely noticing changes and health problems coming up. I see people present with?insomnia, exhaustion, mood changes, menopause symptoms, weight gain, loss of focus and low motivation. They are outward signs of internal imbalances our body wants us to pay attention to and address.?

It is proven that people that don’t seek help for their health early on have much bigger problems to deal with in their delay.

A report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare found that some preventive care was deferred during the pandemic, which could mean some diseases haven't been detected in their early stages, resulting in people getting sicker faster and more seriously than ever.?

Not prioritising our health just means we are putting ourselves at risk of developing health conditions that snowball into more serious problems as we age. Silent serious illnesses like cancer, early stage neurodegenerative illness and heart disease are the big concerns making regular?health monitoring super important.

In 2023 Coronary heart disease was the biggest problem in Australia with 305,000 deaths and 116 million prescriptions for medications given out.

Dementia is the second leading cause of death of all Australians and leading cause of death for women. It’s estimated there are more than 421,000 people living in Australia with some form of dementia.?

The older we get the more we need to be prioritising our health.? We have a moment in mid life where we can do some really good stuff, we can address what's starting to rear its head.

Preventative measures future proof our health. ?

Now is the time to get some bloodwork done. Make sure you aren’t missing something that could be silently or not so silently going on in the background.?

What you don't know might kill YOU!
