Having someone who is a language teacher and a native speaker of the language you are learning is priceless. Except for obvious reasons, like getting all the grammar remarks and pronunciation corrections, there is one more reason why I am glad to have such a coach on my team.
My students find it very helpful to have a coach who can in live conversation pick up on any mistake they make, and explain to them what they said wrong and how to say it properly. They learn much faster that way and they repeat the same mistakes rarely.
