Why have we stopped asking the Question 'Why'

I thought to share the experience of a friend of mine who had visited a Government Hospital a few days back.. There was an emergency situation at her place as the lady who was working at her place (Would not like to call somebody a maid) got a stroke and she rushed her to the nearest hospital in her vicinity which happened to be a Government Hospital (She is a doctor herself and had known few people there in the hospital). As she reached there was no assistant no helper to help her get 'Jaitun' to the emergency room. My friend and her sister got a stretcher put Jaitun on it pulled the stretcher through the corridors and manged to take her to the emergency room.. The doctor put her on a Ventilator.. the Ventilator was not those machines that you see in movies or on which the VIPs are put on it was a Manual Ventilator which had to be pumped by Hand.. there was no help around no assistant no nurse.. my friend and her sister pumped the ventilator for around 5 hrs till the time 'Jaitun' was shifted to the ICU.. The ordeal continued..

What i am trying to say here is there would be lot of 'Jaitun's' who would be dying everyday due to lack of medical support.. Why do we not as responsible citizens.. So called Professionals.. and Educated people question the wrongs happening around us..

Why everything is taken for 'Its like that only in India' or 'Its a Government Hospital' what do you expect from it! Why all of us have stopped asking the question 'Why'

Is the'Why' not being asked because we are too busy or is it that 'Why' is not being asked because we have become selfish.. We will not ask the question 'Why' cause we are not the ones who are being affected by it! And well if its affecting us we have good salaries a great education backing us so lets shift to another country.. After all 'I' deserve a better quality of Life which my country does not provide soo 'Why' should i stay here!

Is this the attitude we have started living with.. Where nothing affects us cause we have started accepting all the Goods and the BAD'S as part of our system and as an integral organ of our country which cannot be removed!

I say cant we stand up.. cant we voice our opinion.. cant we do something at least in our capacity to change all of it..

Its easy to blame ' The system is Corrupt even if i feel for a cause there is no one who would listen' 'How much of a difference can I make' 'I cant change the whole system, so why to even get into it'

We all would have our reasoning to justify our act.. But there is always something one can do..

How many of us actually go and donate something.. make a genuine effort to feed a hungry.. go to a Hospital and meet a patient and help them out..

I understand we all might not have the funds to do the charity that we would like to but cant we mobilize the funds.. We are part of FB groups.. We have 500+ connections on linked in can we make a better and less selfish use of these networks..

Can we just mobilize a rupee a day from all the people we know and buy Food, Medical Equipment, Medicines and give it out to the people who need it..

What i am trying to say here is that its easy to Justify, its easy to blame, its easy to sit back and sympathize or empathize but it is also not difficult to bring in a change..

In whatever way you can.. do something extra.. something which is not for your relatives or friends but something which is just a bit Human.. It would feel nice..

When a little child bangs at the glass window of your car.. do not shout at her/him its what they are taught to do just return this with a gesture of a smile.. give them a sweet or anything to eat and wave at them to bid them a good bye.. Notice the smile that they return.. it will actually make you happy.. Go feed somebody today.. Go to a hospital do whatever bit of charity you can.. talk to your friends mobilize funds in whatever way you can.. just try and do your bit..

Its 'Valentines Day' tomorrow.. do something for the love of Humanity.. A little sweet.. a smile.. a warm hug will never take away anything from You..

Make somebody;s Day Special apart from the 'Special One' in your Life.. Honestly it will make You feel much more Special :)
