What Kind of LED and Spectrum We Are Using?
Recommended Light:
1. 4ft 20-24w.IP55.AL Profile.PC Clear Cover.10piece in Parallel
2. Spectrum: Red:Blue:White:IR=5:1:1:1 or Red:Blue:White:IR=4:1:1:1
3. Outside Driver 240w with two 5 Branches. Each Branch For 5 Bar Lights
Why We Using This Kind Of LED Spectrum? How Does Light Affect The Plant Growth?
YOU May Wonder That:
1.Why this kind of Spectrum Ecospeed use? Because most of them use Red+Blue~ 2.Why so heavy Red and less blue and also Why IR inside? Is IR really useful? 3.What's the Purpose of the White color?Where is the Green?
The highest intensity of photosynthesis is obtained under red light,we can get so many useful evidences online about the effect of the Red and Blue for plants.but plants die or their growth gets disrupted if only red light is used. For example, Korean researchers have shown that under pure red light the amount of the grown lettuce is greater than under a combination of red and blue light, but the leaves have a significantly smaller amount of chlorophyll, polyphenols and antioxidants. And the researchers at the Faculty of Biology of the Moscow State University have found that the synthesis of sugars is reduced, growth is inhibited and no blossoming occurs in the leaves of Chinese cabbage under narrow-band red and blue light (as compared to a sodium lamp).
Why White LED lighting for plants?(Very Important For Canopy Leafy Plants-For Example Lettuce/Basil)
The energy feasibility of plant lighting using common white LED lamps has been studied in so many papers. The characteristic shape of the white LED spectrum is determined by: ?Balance of short and long waves correlated with the color temperature ?Spectrum occupancy degree correlated with the color rendering
Fig.1. Spectra of white LED light with the same color rendering, but different color temperature CCT (left), and with the same color temperature and different color rendering Ra (right)
Differences in the spectrum of white diodes with the same color rendering and color temperature are barely perceptible. Therefore, we can estimate the spectro-dependent parameters only by color temperature, color rendering and light efficiency–parameters that are written on the label of a conventional white light lamp.
The results from analysis of the spectra of serial white LEDs are as follows:
1,The spectrum of all white LEDs, even with a low color temperature and with maximum color rendering, as in sodium lamps, has a very small amount of far red light. In natural conditions, a plant shaded by the leaves of other plants receives more far red light than near red light, which triggers a ‘shadow avoidance syndrome’ in light-loving plants – a plant grows upward. For example, tomatoes need far red light at the stage of growth (not seedlings!) to stretch, grow bigger, increase a total occupied area, and, consequently, the yield in the future.Accordingly, under white LEDs and sodium light, a plant feels like under the direct sunlight and does not grow upward.
2.The Spectrum of all white LEDs get Green color mixed~We call Green Light another sunlight. Why?
A.REFLECTED LIGHT: Some of the green light that shines on a leaf is reflected. Thus we see the green coloration of that plant. This might seem like wasted energy. But not when we account for canopy penetration. Reflected light is scattered and passed on to leaves that are lower down on the plant3. This reduces die back (senescence) of lower leaves, allowing them to get at least a portion of light.
B.ABSORBED LIGHT: If we look at a cross section of a plant leaf, we find that most of the blue and red light wavelengths are absorbed in the upper layer4. Although some green light is reflected, a portion is also absorbed by accessory pigments. In addition to chlorophyll-A, plants have carotenes and xanthophylls. These are able to expand the absorbable light spectrum5, harvesting some of that green light for photosynthesis.
C.LIGHT PENETRATION: The upper(adaxial)layer of a leaf's surface harvests mostly blue and red wavelengths. So how do the plant tissues in the bottom portion of the leaf get any light? That is where green light comes in. It penetrates deeper, being transmitted throughout the leaf6. Travelling a long path, green light is reflected many times inside of the cellular structures. Thus green light serves a vital role in driving photosynthesis in the lower portions of a leaf.
Red/blue/white/Blue/IR.they all play an very important role for leafy plants grow~Ecospeed Combine all them together with different ratio percentage~has been widely used in many lab and farm all over the world~ it proved to be the right light and spectrum your lettuce can reply on~ For more details about different purpose of different color~ Kindly Email Me:[email protected] WhatsApp/Wechat:+86 132 6578 6006
