According to AdWeek, 81% of consumers will visit your website before they ever consider doing business with you. Those same consumers operate in micro-moments - where they need to know, go, do, or buy in a fraction of an instant - and they expect your website to load super-fast to help them make buying decisions quickly.
Because of these real-time demands from consumers, your website must load quickly. When I tell attendees at my Google events about the importance of their PageSpeed, the first question I get is, "Well how fast is fast enough?" In a perfect world, your site would load instantaneously, but that's just not possible. In reality, you are shooting for under 3 seconds. In fact, according to a recent Google research report, the average time it takes to fully load a mobile landing page is 22 seconds, yet 53 percent of mobile site visitors leave a page that takes longer than 3 seconds to load. That's right... over 1/2 of your potential customers will abandon your site if it doesn't load in just 3 seconds!
Thankfully, Google Speed Insights can help you to measure the load time of your site and identify ways to keep prospective customers in your sales funnel. Take a look at this quick demo video to learn how to use Think with Google's TestMySite tool to analyze your website's load time.
