Why Is God’s Plan Not What I Want?

Why Is God’s Plan Not What I Want?

Trusting His Ways When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

Hi friend,

I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way, but sometimes I wonder:?Why is God’s plan not what I want?

So often, when something terrible happens, people conclude,?It’s God’s plan."

But if that’s true, why doesn’t His plan align with what I want now?

I thought Jeremiah 29:11 said,

"I say this because I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future.”

So, why do bad things happen to people who love God? Why do those of us trying to walk in His will feel like life isn’t going as it should? Why does it seem like the people who don’t care about God sometimes get a more leisurely road?

I’ll be honest: I don't have one if you’re waiting for me to give you a perfect answer to this question. I’m still figuring it out myself. What I do know is this: the Bible says:

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.?(Isaiah 55:8)

God’s plan doesn’t always make sense at the moment, but it is always good. It doesn’t matter if:

  • You’re 30 and still single, while your younger sibling is married with kids.
  • You’ve been waiting years to conceive while others are finishing their families.
  • You’ve poured into others, helping them succeed while still waiting for your own breakthrough.
  • Or you’re watching everyone around you in happy relationships while you feel left behind.

God’s plan is still His plan.?No matter how frustrating or confusing it may seem, His timing and ways are perfect.

It’s Okay to Ask Questions. Don’t let anyone tell you that you shouldn’t question God. If you’re struggling to understand why something happened, ask Him. Ask why He allowed it. Ask how it fits into His plan for your life.

Do you think you'll get an answer right away? Maybe not. But I promise, one day, it will all make sense. The pain, the waiting, and the moments when you wondered if He was even listening serve a purpose in the story He’s writing for your life.

I honestly didn’t plan to write about God’s plan today. This wasn’t even on my mind when I drafted this email. But I felt led to share it with you, and I hope it encourages you to keep trusting Him, even in the challenging moments.

I created a Praise Companion playlist just for you.

A Prayer for You:

I pray the Lord bless you.

I pray the Lord to keep you.

I pray the Lord makes His face shine upon you.

May His favour be upon you and your generation, now and always.

Until my next letter to you, keep trusting in God’s plan.

With love, Bolaji Billions.
