Why GBTA Membership matters.

The world of business travel continually evolves. Innovation and change are happening at an ever-increasing pace. The Global Business Travel Association is a worldwide organization dedicated to educating and supporting the travel industry. ?As a travel industry executive for the last 35 years I have belonged to a number of associations throughout my career.? The GBTA stands out as one of the best run and most influential association I have ever seen. They are hosting their annual Convention in Atlanta July 22-24, and the convention is jam packed with over 80 education sessions. Everyone who is anyone in the travel industry will be at GBTA 2024. ?I am such an ardent supporter of the organization that I have decided to throw my hat into the ring and run for the GBTA Board of Directors. The need for visionary leadership and innovative strategies is extremely important in these challenging times. This is why I, Rick Versace, am excited to announce my candidacy for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Board of Directors, Global Allied Members At Large Seat. With decades of experience in the travel and transportation industry, my goal is to contribute to GBTA’s mission of driving the industry forward in these dynamic times.

Throughout my career, beginning in the bustling streets of Brooklyn with Apple Express, and later, establishing the highly regarded A1A Global Ground a worldwide luxury ground transportation provider, I have consistently prioritized innovation and exemplary customer service. My work has been recognized with A1A ??being named an Inc. 5000 company and receiving the LCT Operator of the Year award, as well as the Magellan Award. These accolades reflect our commitment to excellence and forward-thinking in an ever-changing industry.

At GBTA, I plan to focus on several key areas: enhancing strategic meeting management, advocating for sustainable travel practices, and promoting advanced business travel leadership and education. The "Fundamentals of Strategic Meeting Management?" and "Sustainable Travel Management" courses at the upcoming GBTA 2024 are prime examples of initiatives that align with this focus, aiming to equip travel professionals with the tools to manage and reduce carbon emissions and implement effective strategies in their operations.
