Why gatekeeping is stifling your organization's growth.
Something really resonated with me at the end of the sessions, when experts from the AdTech community were asked about the biggest challenges they see with businesses adapting to the current and ongoing tech landscape.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest barrier to adoption is joint buy in.
The thing getting in the way: Gatekeeping.
It resonated with me because I've seen this before.
Sales wants to close a deal and make money. Implementation wants to get a project closed, even if it means giving away time or product. Client Services wants a happy client and any dichotomy among other departments will have abysmal consequences for the client relationship.
I have lived this.
So what can you do to eliminate fractured outcomes? Try these tips to make adoption of new tech seamless and growth worthy:
? Don't be a Gatekeeper: Gatekeeping makes it tough for other departments to see how one department's plan fits into the organization as a whole.
? Eliminate Politics at all Costs: Everyone should have shared and common goals. Emphasize the value everyone is getting out of a project or tech tool.
? Build a Business Case: Provide objective evidence supporting a positive outcome of plans.

? Promote Value: Make sure everyone understands the value being driven by different departments, including the one they are in.
? Encourage Communication: Between Tech/IT departments and Marketing/Client Services. Have it and make it strong!
NO GATEKEEPING!!!
When there's gatekeeping, no one can see how they fit into the grand plan.
Without it, you will set your organization up for endless success.
