I have had an opportunity to see Africa and African business closely .
There is a lot of thrust on quality among the consumers in Africa.
African consumers want the best of the best even at a premium.
Also while many new businesses start only a few survive the test of time .The basic problem is the lack of experience among the entrepreneurs. They struggle writing a business plan to present to the investors . Banks reject most of the requests for loans as they are uncertian about the probability of success of the proposed untested business.
Despite spending millions of currency notes labour and time, many a times it leads to disillusionment for the Enterpreneurs. The most painful thing is to see a business getting closed after you have put in so much effort into it.
Also businesses spend so much on training of there employees for example, there is a friend of mine in Zambia who spends yearly around 20,000 USD to get his employees trained in India on new ways of developing his fledgling business.
