Why Footballers Have No Pimples?—?This Doesn’t Just Apply to Footballers…

Have you ever noticed that footballers have skin as clear as daylight?

I’ve been watching the Premier League for 18 years, and it only just struck me that basically, every player looks as fresh as a daisy. Regular white-collar workers (while I’m not sure what the statistic is) suffer from more acne than athletes. I’m not a dermatologist, but it seems obvious why. People in white-collar jobs have more stressful days, have to rely on their own nutritional knowledge and are more likely to drink and smoke cigarettes. There has been enough variety of ethnicities in premier league footballs to dispel the argument that acne is largely genetically influenced.

Imagine the life of a Premier League Footballer. A dopamine kick at 10 am from training matched by good cardio, followed by a carefully planned nutritional diet. This coupled with a strict no-drug policy (random checks happen regularly), mean that these athletes have healthy lives. Since motion leads to emotion (Tony Robbins), this positively reinforces the mental health of these footballers which then boomerangs back to their physiology. It’s a virtuous cycle.

This is about much more than just pimples, it’s about showcasing a CLEAR AS DAYLIGHT example of what lots of exercises, a good diet and mapped out routine can do for both physical and mental health. I for one have recently started a new job and have not stuck to my New Year’s target of working out regularly, and not only has my anxiety exploded off the charts, but my skin isn’t glowing and my body is actively fatigued.

While us in the white-collar club don’t have doctors, chefs and coaches mapping out our day to day, we can all learn by looking at athletes at the importance of designing a healthy routine to impact our health on a day-to-day basis.

Design a routine as if you’re about to play the World Cup final…the final isn’t important, it’s the doing to get there which will ultimately benefit us.

I shall give it a good go.
