Why Finding Peace is Overrated?

"What do you want to do in your life when you grow up?" asked him. "I want to find peace." that's me as a 12-year or so old school-going boy. I have no idea why I made this weird choice in Life. Maybe, living in a family pack of 19 and seeing so much energy and randomness everywhere, the only thing that came was the famous global Hindi word "Shanti." It sounds like Scientist in Indian-English pronunciation. "That's nice. You want to be a Scientist when you grow up." he reaffirms.?

Now, almost living my Life for?21,024,000 Minutes,?I feel that Finding Peace is Overrated. On my travels specifically, I have often reflected on my Life. Travel helps me to plunge into the inner chaos of my Life. This chaos is a puzzle of unresolved emotions, thoughts, and something more that you have no clue what it is in the first place. It was only when long-distance air travel became the order of the day; I started to experience the Turbulence of travel.?

You go past Turbulence to find Peace, only to realize you were high. Claim your share of uncertainties with calmness. Nobody wants to be part of lousy Turbulence or still better; none of us wants to crash from it. Our lives need similar reaffirmation. Life needs to educate us better. We don't have to live in denial of turbulences in our lives.?

Denial of turbulences in Life, in my opinion, is a wrong approach. It just makes turbulences more turbulent, eventually leaving your pilot and you at the grace of the situation to survive and thrive.?

Good Pilots are rarely worried about Turbulence. They avoid the disturbances for convenience and comfort than safety. The bigger planes with more people on board manage Turbulence better than the smaller ones with lesser people. Our Life is about meeting people - sharing our journeys, and becoming a part of their journeys.

During the Turbulence in airplanes and our lives, we find the scene scary to some degree. I have seen passengers screaming, praying it out loud, or even holding strangers' hands. It's terrifying on most occasions. But, there's beauty in these terrifying moments too. I have always looked outside the window at such events. It makes you live the moment in its entirety and experience the beauty of the moments that follow.?

It has generally lasted for a minute or so. What's interesting is a scene when it's over. After that, we either go back to the zone of denial, maybe blaming a pilot, or still better thanking god and goddesses profusely for giving yet another chance.?

We survived because we all do.?

Life is about Survival. And not giving up when the situation demands. Acceptance of turbulences is where we all start. Our consciousness helps us to adapt to Turbulence in our business of Life. It enables us to evolve and look beyond. The tool of acceptance leads us to act. But, Turbulence is also an opportunity to look inwards; it's an opportunity to find who we are.?

Knowledge, understanding, acceptance, action, and patience are essential for dealing with Turbulence in Life.

Turbulence in Life and airplane :

  1. Is Perfectly Normal
  2. Isn't dangerous
  3. Pilots know when it's coming
  4. Using Seat Belts (doing something Patiently) helps
  5. Anxiety kills more than actual plane crash

Subscribe to the Idea of Turbulence and enjoy the ride. Peace is our own making; Turbulence is not. So enjoy all the Turbulence while you can. Peace is, anyway, overrated.?
