I recently spoke with a C-Suite business leader about some of the benefits they had with their new employer and was interested to see how it was not just the basic package of salary/bonus/equity that was the main draw on them making the decision on the role.
One of those additional benefits which attracted them to the role was an interesting one, the option to have an executive coach.
It got me thinking what is an executive coach?
An executive coach is a qualified professional that works confidentially with individuals (usually executives, but often high potential employees) to help them gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve their development objectives, unlock their potential, and act as a sounding board.
In today's business world, executive coaching is more popular than ever.
Why? Because it provides a focused, practical, and commercial forum for growth that helps develop both the individual and their impact within a company.
I can certainly see the added benefit that this would have to the individual and the employer.
I am interested to know how many people/businesses utilise executive coaches?
Is this a benefit from your employer, or do you invest in one out of your own pocket?
Do you think you would benefit from having an executive coach?
Have you had any recommendations personally?
Do you use one and how has this helped you?
