Hey,
You know, something I have been thinking about after Monalisa from Zenith mentioned it in our?roundtable last week, is this?sense of urgency?we have adopted in Web 3.
An urgency to build a business and get funding NOW, to get the great big salary NOW, to have people booking us up as speakers, as consultants NOW.?Without having put the hard work in.
There is this feeling that 'overnight success' is actually REAL. For some few, yes it is, they made the right decisions at the right time, and some divine intervention happened, or luck. But the real hard truth is this; building a business, a brand, a name for yourself and results at work takes?time.?Time and energy.?In fact, if you follow the belief of 'success happens quickly', then you will find yourself with?no time and no energy and no success,?or some- but no energy to enjoy it, straight on to the next thing.
Why do we have such a warped idea of success in Web 3? Why do we feel we need to be an overnight success and who has facilitated this?
Maybe it's because of the Pepe coins, the ICO era, the bull runs? Who got the participants in this industry thinking that this ' making $$ ' overnight is honestly, sustainable? It's not.
I even fell in to this trap when I was a brand new coach. I had made the big $$'s as a CMO in Web 3, surely I should be making that same amount straight away? I got sucked into the 'high ticket' coaching trap until I was reminded by my own coach, "wait...what's the rush?" It happens to the best of us.
So what's the better solution, how do we develop the mindset to take it slower?
We look ahead and ask ourself important questions;
What is it, that's driving me to work this way? To feel this pressure, this urgency to have [insert goal i.e a fully fledged business built in year 1 ] ? Is it true to my values?
What happens if i don't work this way?
What are the benefits? What will life look like for me?
Without the answers, we can't see outside of the urgency.

Weekly Q&A
Q: You keep talking about 'non-negotiables', but what are they and how do I know how to set them?
A: Great question! Non-negotiables are basically your set of life rules. What do you say yes to? What do you say no to? They're a form of boundary setting that make life incredibly fulfilling.
My non-negotiables are as simple as this; no laptop after 7pm, doggie walks with no looking at phones, calls after 7pm only if it's coaching ( my love!) and no calls before 11am.

So take a second to sit and think about what you are saying yes to too much. What do you need to do to feel good everyday without fail? Do you say yes to conferences once a month, but no more? Make a list and decide what is absolutely a must and what is a 'nice to have'.
These non-negotiables make decision making incredibly easy and help you to create healthy boundaries around your time and energy, your future self will thank you!

1 年Yes. Sometimes the rush to build too fast only gives way to a fatal collapse. Web3 is quite young and needs leadership. Thanks for taking this initiative Emily Rose Dallara . #web3leadershipday
