Have you heard about generative AI lately?
It's got everyone talking, not just the experts.?
In recent years, machines have become incredibly skilled at creating images and text, and 2022 was a game-changer for generative AI. With diffusion methods for image generation and large-scale transformers for text generation, it's no wonder people are excited.
So the main question is, why is everyone curious about generative AI?
Let's break down into three primary reasons.
Easy to Understand and Super Approachable
First, generative AI models are easy to "get." They create natural-looking images and fluid text that anyone can understand, even if you're not an AI whiz.
Compared to other AI research areas, it's fresh air that can seem more like rocket science to the average person.
It's All About How We Measure Intelligence
Another reason we're so fascinated with generative AI is because it reminds us of how we evaluate human smarts.
In school, we often value a student's ability to come up with answers rather than just picking the right one. This shows they know their stuff rather than just guessing or memorizing. So, when AI systems create realistic images or write like a pro, it's hard not to compare them to human knowledge or understanding.
The cool thing is that these models have many potentials uses beyond showing off their generation's skills.

They Can Create Stuff Based on Context
The latest generative AI models can whip up content based on specific inputs or contexts, which is impressive. Most things we do as humans involve creating something based on other info.
Think about writing an essay, chatting, or drawing up architectural plans—these activities require generating content based on certain conditions. With AI systems now able to do this, we can expect more automation and teamwork between humans and computers.
These AI-generated goodies, like text, images, or videos, can be used for various tasks requiring a human touch. This will lead to more automation and collaboration between people and artificial systems, impacting our lives.
We're already seeing tools like Code Whisperer and Jasper popping up, which help humans with coding and crafting marketing copy.
As we move through 2023, we'll focus on all the cool things we can do with these generative AI advances.
It's a fascinating time to be in the industry because we're working on developing the foundational tools for building intelligent systems and processes. The aim is to make these tools as user-friendly and widely applicable as possible so anyone can get in on the action.
Generative AI has the potential to completely change how we use computers, making it easier for us to communicate with machines through language.
While human intelligence is about more than what generative AI can do, combining this tech with our knack for innovation will lead to some seriously amazing developments in 2023 and beyond.
So, there you have it.
Generative AI makes waves because it's easy to understand, connected to how we measure intelligence and can create content based on context.
As we keep exploring the potential of generative AI, we will see a shift towards more automation and collaboration between humans and machines, changing how we interact with computers for the better.

On the other hand, it is quite complicated for educators, trainers and tutors, they have to think about how to test knowledge in a more innovative way.
