Why Engineering Culture is the #1 way you can unlock productivity and value in technology organisations

We believe that without change the Tech Giants will put some Financial Services (FS) firms (or divisions of them) out of business. Additionally, when we compare the efficiency, productivity and ROI of many FS technology functions to their Tech Giant peers, the latter group are in significantly better shape.

What is the key difference between these two groups of firms? A fundamental difference is their culture. Of course, having a strong engineering culture is a more natural outcome for the Tech Giants, whose business started out being focused on engineering, but we feel that Technology is now the main battleground for success in Financial Services, and to get great technology outcomes you need a great engineering culture.
