Why on earth do I do a podcast?

Well, I'll tell you. Firstly, it is fun and interesting - so that's pretty much a good enough reason to do anything. But, stay with me, there's more. In our podcast, She Wrote Too, we talk about women who wrote in the past. This might not sound very cutting edge but they were.
The women who made their careers in a hostile environment that was set against them can teach us all a thing or two. They were negotiators, navigators, noble warriors for their causes against the odds. At that time, in the 19th and early 20th Century, things were set against women - stay with me, this is relevant to everyone who has to deal with challenging times.
These people did not give up. They did it anyway. They seriously navigated the most hostile of circumstances. They were not allowed to own property, vote, be awarded university degrees or hold any kind of public office. You know what they did? They found a way around the system and the hostility and they found their own way to forge their own way through.
This is a lesson to all of us who face difficulties and problems. It has been done before and we can do it again. To draw on the past and see how people have done it before we did is inspiration. She Wrote Too.
