Why Dream Team?

Many of you may have noticed that I use the term ′Dream Team′ quite often. Probably you have already questioned why? From the outside, one could have the opinion that this is a cliché or stereotype.

But frankly, this is not the case at all – It is the opposite!

Did you know, that my team is called hundreds of times every day exactly ′Dream Team′? And this is not just by me.

Today, I would like to let you know why I am part of a real Dream Team, and for several different reasons.

It is all about the people

Over the years, I have had the fortune, for which I am very grateful, to encounter exceptional people and ultimately convince them to join my team.

Together, we've achieved incredible goals, working hard when the times required it; we have learnt how to be successful the hard way, and after many painful setbacks, we have come to where we are today.

This, I am sure, could have only been possible thanks to all these valuable people.

As an entrepreneur and founder of a business, I learnt that one of the recipes for success is to be surrounded by unique, committed people who have the right expertise in those specific areas which are vital for your business.

These people need to be let free to express their creativity to turn their innovative ideas into reality and finally bring them to perfection.

They drive all the little things that are needed to build a large satisfied customer base, which is the ultimate goal of every business, for happy customers are the proof of success and confirm what has been done right.

To me, the entire journey with GlobeAir is a dream, one that I have always wanted to live with such motivated and motivating people. They represent my team, and my team embodies my dream.

Dream Team is GlobeAir's official call sign

Every day my crew perform dozens of flights crossing the European sky and flying through multiple clear defined airspace sectors. All those sectors are controlled by highly skilled and well-trained air traffic controllers with the latter being in constant communication with my crew and vice versa.

Our official assigned call sign within the airspaces, departure and approach sectors at airports, is ′Dream Team′. Every day our crew, pilots from other airlines and air traffic controllers are calling us ′Dream Team′.

Exactly ten years ago this original and unique call sign has been approved by ICAO and the Austrian ministry of transport and assigned to my team. With my ideal vision of team as explained above, you can relate to me when I state that this call sign means much more than a bureaucratic requirement.

The reason why I am very attached to this call sign is that it is unique and stands for what my team is all about. It is unique in the way that it exists only one time in the aviation and airliner world. And believe me, it was not easy to get this call sign officially approved! Today, I would like to share with you the official email with the approval message from ICAO prior we have received the official approval letter by registered mail.

I can remember clearly the moment I opened this same email in my inbox back then. My memories bring me back to a younger version of myself sitting with tears of joy in front of the laptop while realising that ′Dream Team′ was finally approved.

It was an instant moment of happiness back then and still it is so today.

Knowing our ′Dream Team′ has been in the air for 10 years and probably used millions of time by various aviation stakeholders is something very emotional to me. But even more than this, ′Dream Team′ is for me a memento that pushes me to work even harder to keep GlobeAir successfully in the air for many more DREAM years to come.
