Why Door Dash is Done Delivering for Walmart
After a four-year partnership, DoorDash is done delivering for Walmart.
But, don't cry for the online food ordering and delivery platform. In the second quarter, they delivered 426 million orders with gross sales of $12.8 billion. A 30% revenue growth was driven by more customers, more frequent orders, with a higher average order amount. The company still posted a net loss of $263 million, doubling last year's loss.?
It may be better to describe Door Dash as a marketplace for discovery and delivery (and advertising). As most brands don't choose to break up with Walmart it will be interesting to see how the Door Dash business grows in the future.??
