Why Don't You?

My way, my path, my opinion, my cause -- is always right.

My voice, my purpose, my language, my reason -- is always right.

My post, my tweet, my podcast, my channel -- is always right.

My views, my lens, my words, my choice -- is always right.

I have found my right. And people around me who will confirm this truth. Which one? That I am right, of course! About what? About everything, of course!

How can I be right about everything? I ask you, why I cannot be? I’m intelligent, I’m educated, I’m a thinker, too. What? You think I am part of the many who blindly follow? I take offense to that! I make decisions myself. I follow because I am a loyal follower.

Don’t tell me to reassess. Such a waste of time.

Don’t tell me to re-evaluate. You are trying to create doubt where there is none.

Don’t tell me to empathize. I’ve had enough of this weak thinking. I’ve made up my mind, and nothing will change it.

You are one of those who keep doubting everything. Doubting Thomases all of you. Look at what you’re doing now! Telling me that dissent is important for progress. Absolutely ridiculous! Dissent is mischievous, intending to make life difficult for us who want to progress. You want to progress with us, you must think about everyone, not just yourself.

But you and your kind just keep making matters difficult for everyone. Kabhi you want to argue, kabhi you want to sit on dharnas. What about my causes? You have no consideration for me. Even when everything is happening for you! And no, don’t talk to me about your views and interests. You are clearly misled and I refuse to listen to you.

You only think about yourself. You think others have it easy? Everyone has to sacrifice for greater good. I don’t sulk like you.

I used my state-discounted education to my advantage, worked day and night to ensure I build my network of achievers, use all the information I have to make good choices, good investments. Whatever I need to do, I do very gracefully, and so my boss loves me. Not like you guys. I just worked so hard. And you call me privileged!

I’m just someone with strong belief, and proud of it!

I believe in equality, but there has to be a first among equals.

I believe in equity, but you are poor because you are lazy.

I believe in inclusion, but you need to know your place too.

I believe in diversity, but you can’t expect me forget my lineage!

I believe in respect, but you must first acknowledge I am superior.

Enough of this sweet talk. I will be tough now. It’s time to stand up and close this debate once and for all. We can live together happily… all you have to do is listen to me.
