Consultants, a little while ago, we were talking about Client Signaling in The Academy.?


(Client Signaling is where you take your messaging, posts, literally anything you write or say, and include ‘signals’ that only your ideal clients will pick up. That way, everything you write becomes way more effective by creating an instant affinity for YOU.)


At the end of the training, as we got into the questions, I talked about some ways I client-signal in my content.


For instance, by being very open about my values and beliefs.?


One of the women said, “Yeah, I noticed you did that in your FAQs with that Trump question.”


I FROZE for a moment, remembering what I had written (it's HERE if you want to see what they were talking about haha).


When I regained myself, I said, “Oh? You saw that?” Trying to act casual.


And she said, “Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I decided to work with you.”


[CUE MAJOR SIGH OF RELIEF]


And then someone else un-muted: “Me too, I saw that and was like, I want to work with her.”


And then another said the same. And I saw nodding in all the Zoom camera windows.


I realized, what I was worried about people reading… when the right people read it, it drew them even closer.


That’s the power of Client Signaling.?


If we’re doing our job right, the right clients see themselves in your messaging. The clients who are too small or wrong for you will walk on by.?


The clients who come to you are a direct reflection of what you put out there. So put out what you truly want.?


Tell the truth and be yourself.?


After all, you’re going to be working really closely with these people. You want the relationship to be good.


If you hide an opinion that’s important to you in your marketing, you’re going to have to hide it in your relationships too.
