Donald is not an ill-educated idiot, quite the contrary.
Whilst he might be a great president, were he to be elected, that's not the problem.
As in every country, there will be many less intelligent, less well educated people, of every race, creed & colour, in the US.
Trouble is, Don's words & behaviour might appear to legitimise & give licence to bigoted, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, red necked, censorious, behaviour.
The extreme Right Wing is often characterised as fascist, & vice versa.
There are too many stories of countries drifting to the Right on the back of the disillusionment of the people.
Donald may not be intending to lead a shift to the extreme Right, but he may equally be unwittingly offering a golden opportunity to others.
Fascism, invented in 1919 by Benito Mussolini, is a system of government marked by the centralization of authority, a figurehead leader, a capitalist economy, stringent controls and typically policies of belligerent nationalism, chauvinism and authoritarianism, ultimately fundamentally opposed to democracy and liberalism.
God help us all if that were ever to happen to the USA.
