Why Does Gartner's Magic Quadrant Mean So Much To Me

In the last 11 years, I've had an interesting relationship with Gartner. I remember my Marketing Director at Liferay teaching us the importance of Gartner's Magic Quadrant and the criteria each tech had to meet to be considered for the MQ. I got invested in the competiton and the excellence of being there. Why? Because I wanted to see if the products and solutions we marketed were recognized, how we compared to previous years, and how are our competitors fared.
Getting on the MQ is no easy feat. Every year, thousands upon thousands of tech solutions compete against each other in their respective markets or verticals. By applying a graphical treatment and a uniform set of evaluation criteria, the Magic Quadrant helps business leaders quickly ascertain how well technology providers are executing their stated visions and how well they are performing against Gartner’s market review.
This also has a strategic value to the product road-map and on how you attract new business. Previously, I have seen my team look at non-placement as a way to strategize how we were going to overcome the objection or fill in a critical gap when we inevitably heard it from our customers and prospects. Once placed, it bolstered our efforts to move from the Challenger space and vie to be a leader. In most SaaS savvy organizations, the MQ rankings sway buying decisions and being there symbolizes our vision and mission statement.
?? That's why this year when Insider placed on Gartner's Multichannel Marketing Hubs MQ, I was proud of this achievement ??. Getting on the Magic Quadrant is the combined effort of everyone at Insider, who share the passion and dream of our founders and leaders.

Kudos to the 20 or so that made the MQ ????, because regardless of their position on the quadrant they have earned the respect and loyalty of their customers, their peers and research analysts who are strict with their requirements.
