Why do YOU write?

That was the question asked to get things kicked off. Do you write for your audience or yourself (or a little bit of both)?

Paul Roetzer , Mike Kaput , Cathy McPhillips , and the rest of the team at the Marketing AI Institute delivered an amazing afternoon chock-full of super helpful, super relevant content in their AI For Writers Summit session.

I'm not sure how they managed to get so much great information packed into one afternoon (it felt like an entire day's worth of content), but they did.

A couple of notable sessions really stood out (but they were all amazing).

Generative AI Insights from an IP Attorney

Christa Laser shared so much interesting and helpful information about the legal implications of AI, what can (and cannot) be protected under copyright law, contract suggestions, and soooo much more. As Paul said (more than once), we could spend an entire afternoon on just the legal implications of AI. So, so good.

AI in Action Process Revealed (Start to Finish)

The other session I loved was when Mike and Cathy pulled back the curtain to share their production process. They were totally transparent and open with the audience - which was great (and super helpful). With their #podcast serving as the foundation of their content strategy, attendees got a start-to-finish tour of what happens (and how thanks to AI they are saving almost 70 hours a month).

At a super high level, here's an overview of their process:

• Research - Using platforms like #perplexity and #chatgpt they are able to source and digest information. Then this information is further manipulated to help prepare their podcast brief.
• Production - Once the podcast is "in the can" they use #descript to edit and refine the recording, making it ready for publishing every Tuesday morning.
• Written Content - Transcripts are generated from the audio recording to build out deeper content for things like blogs, social posts, their newsletter, etc. A great example of #repurposing their audio/video content to maximize visibility.
• Promotion - And finally, using video highlights and key points from the podcast recording, they format and distribute posts across various #socialmedia channels to capture attention and gain online visibility.

Again, there was so much more. I even loved the webinar platform Goldcast , which created opportunities for attendees to interact with each other and share ideas - an unexpected (but pleasant) benefit.

I'm going to have to spend the next several days trying to digest all my notes, but that's a good problem to have.
