"Why do you want to work here?" - I got some stinky responses

Last week I interviewed some highly qualified candidates as our FISH! Family here at The Training Store continues to grow.

When I asked each candidate "Why do you want to work here?", they all had stories about 'toxic' work cultures and never wanting to return.

Each said they were drawn to the authenticity of my advertisement and the positivity of the role.

They wanted to work for a company that had a positive culture.

Can you blame them?

Unfortunately, I hear these stories about toxic culture all too often.

I felt their pain and it reminded me why I love doing what I do. Yes, I train workshops on FISH! but there is so much more to creating positive workplace culture!

The fact that we help others create happiness at work was a definite bonus. I have to say that the quality of these candidates was outstanding and it was a tough decision.

So, how happy are your team at work?

What impact would it have on the business if they decided to leave?

If you haven't been paying attention to your company culture, I guarantee your team are.

I strongly encourage you to kick off this year by reviewing moral levels and if action is needed... take it!

Don't be another 'toxic' culture story that your employees tell at their next job interview.
