Why do we write for algorithms?
Writing is a tough job. You do not just write words but try to put them into a sentence in an analogous way that appeals to the audience, complies with grammar rules, and in the corporate online industry makes the algorithm understand what your piece of content is for.
Today, writers do not just write for humans, they write for algorithms for the better search engine result. I may not be wrong but we prioritize robots and algorithms over humans.
Yuval Noah Harari in his book "21 Lessons from the 21st Century" outlines that "When People design Webpages, they often cater to the taste of the Google search algorithm rather than to the taste of any human being".
Why do we do that?
We Want to reach out our content to more people.
People search content with a particular query (keyword) on the search engine. Search Engine Result Page (SERP), show them the result based on that query.
In addition, they show the result of a high authority website, well-structured content, and a website getting links(Backlinks) from other websites.
For Instance, I wrote a blog on "Digital Marketing". A Searcher, searching for this particular query will find thousands of results for the keyword. But on the first page of the Search Engine, they will find blogs, that are well structured to the criteria of the algorithm of the search engine.
If my blogs cover all the aspects of the niche "Digital Marketing" but do not fulfill the criteria of search engines. My blog is not likely to rank at the top.
However, it can find a place on the bottom, or on page two. But to make it possible, one needs to get crawled and index the post by the search engine.
Bloggers add their website to "Google Search Console" to make it appear on the search engine.
Search Engine Algorithm work on the human actions, not on their intentions, because an algorithm has no consciousness as said by Harari.
If I specify or niches down my actions then it is more likely that the algorithm will understand for what I am searching or what I want the searchers to search.
Look at the Example below by niches down keywords.
In this way, an algorithm of the search engine will show us the result we're expecting.
Similarly, the algorithm of Linkedin ranks your content by several factors. Linkedin measures content on three factors, i.e, Spam, Low Quality, and High Quality. You can learn more about the Linkedin algorithm by reading the Mubeen Anwar Blog on it.
