Why do we need another VR Conference in Potsdam/Germany?

1. WHY DO WE NEED VR NOW CON?
"With the event we want to show what is possible today, what is going on in the technology, business and art of virtual reality. We do not want to discuss what might be possible in 10 year, but highlight what is possible now. That is why we added a #VRNOWAward to the conference. It celebrates outstanding projects which have already been released – we want to award the bravery of developers, publishers and creatives who are pioneering and exploring the fields of VR."
2. WHY DO YOU LOVE #VR?
"Virtual Reality connects different industries at the same level as at the moment everybody faces the same challenges: be it industry applications, point of sales experiences, games, entertainment formats or learning environments, we all need to make the best out of this amazing technology and together develop a new medium. VR provides a feeling of presence never experienced before – it feels as if you were there, not just observing or interacting, but actually being in the new virtual space. Hence new design, storytelling and visualization methods have to be developed and learned. We now live and work in exciting times!"
3. WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE IN ORGANIZING VR NOW CON?
"Together with the Virtual Reality e.V. Berlin Brandenburg and our funding partner Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg we decided rather late in the year to pull this through. We have to realize things in a couple of weeks which normally takes months in preparation and planning. But this fits to the fast paced developments in the world of virtual reality. Hence I am super happy about the engagement of the team and all partners involved and want to salute to the decision makers who even now – a couple of weeks before the year ends – spontaneously jump in and support VR NOW Con with their available resources. Cheers to the speakers, partners and sponsors!"

7 年What I would love is something like the CMSgarden (www.cms-garden.org), where all different ones from AR/VR can present their stuff under one roof and especially at NOT AR/VR-only conferences to reach our still - beyhond games - not existing target audience e.g. like at Bau17 (www.bau-muenchen.com) to show the power of AR/VR for AEC and BIM. This is an advice & recommendation from Bob Stone (https://www.dhirubhai.net/in/bob-stone-21b86918).
