Why do we judge?

Why do we judge and criticize our fellow humans?

Today I found myself comparing, competing, judging and criticizing my competition, colleagues, friends and oh yes, my family. I have been doing self-development and coaching work for seven years now and am still guilty of these feelings even today.

Why do we do this? Is it because we are so proud, competitive or are we just insecure? For me, these are all one in the same.

It does not matter how accomplished, rich or successful we have become or wish to be. There are always people ahead of us, as well as behind us, in this game we call life. I realized today that no one single person on this Earth is better than the next.

Instead of constantly comparing and competing with everyone, let’s Choose to help and support others for all the times that we have been lost, ignored or hurt.

Let’s Choose to be kind and forgive others for all the times we have made mistakes, been judged and criticized.

Why do we look down on those standing behind us, as don't they now stand in the same place where we once stood. Isn't it also silly to be envious and jealous of someone who stands where we want to be?  Let’s be inspired by them and do the hard work to stand where they are.

Yes, there are a lot of injustices in this world but let’s do our best not to add to them. Let’s Choose to take action and live with courage, compassion and respect for our fellow humans both in business and in life.

If we do this, happiness, fulfillment and true success must be our ultimate reward.

As always,  Be Well and Carpe Diem Amazing Humans!

Very valuable message here. In fact you can change any habit you may have created that no longer serves you if you know the root cause of it. The perfect way to eliminate judging from your patterns of thinking/acting is to grow and chose something more uplifting.

Tommy--I stopped judging others when I stopped judging myself! We're constantly having what's inside of us reflected on the outside.....? For me, choice comes easily once I move in the direction of loving myself (non-judgment is part of that, of course).

We have the ability to choose to take the high road in viewing each other as equals---my strength offsets your weakness and vice versa. Recognizing the other person as being superior in some was does not demean us. Just keeps us with a realistic view of ourselves. Good points in the article.
